When Kofi Kinston won the WWE Championship from the then reigning champion Daniel Bryan after a long fight with several other superstars, nobody in the WWE universe had a clue that he would later face the Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. However, with the beast incarnate getting a good beating at the hands of Seth Rollins to lose the WWE Universal Championship it was sure that Seth would be retaining it for sure as the contract of Brock Lesnar with the WWE had expired. However, WWE again negotiated a fresh contract with him and Brock changed his focus to the Heavyweight title on the Smackdown brand, which was held by Kofi Kinston.
But the WWE Universe was left surprised when Brock, after defeating Kofi failed to call out to Kofi, who had a rematch pending with him and instead attacked the Master of 619, Rey Mysterio and his son. While Rey is no match for Brock, this was an indication that the WWE was planning something else for Brock as the potential superstars who would take on head to head with Brock Lesnar were all on the Red Brand of WWE. This was when Cain Velasquez entered into the picture, as a friend of Rey Mysterio and a mentor of his son. This made it clear that the WWE Results from the blue brand would not be one-sided when the WWE World Heavyweight Champion was to be taken into the picture.
Also, Cain gave Brock a much-needed challenge that was required on Smackdown to keep it worth watching, after Roman Reigns was drafted to Raw in the WWE Draft. Also, Cain Velasquez and Brock Lesnar have a history between them and they have crossed paths in the past. As it is said that history repeats itself, it is doing it once again as WWE has given Cain Velasquez a contract that provides him with a title shot in the very first match of his WWE career. Cain is all set to take on the Beast at WWE Crown Jewels on 31 October 2019 for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. This puts both Cain and Brock in the same situation as in 2010, when they both clashed for the UFC Heavyweight championship which was then held by Brock Lesnar.
Cain Velasquez had conquered the BEast in that match after too much of bloodshed in the Octagon and had become the UFC Heavyweight Champion. However, the time has passed but it seems Brock is still worried at having to face Cain once again and that too, for his title — which he won in 6 seconds. Cain has also made a statement that he would make it sure that Brock gets another scar on the other side of his face at Crown Jewel as he would take away the WWE World Heavyweight Championship from him. However, the WWE always has other plans and they surprise the WWE Universe with those plans — Sasha Banks lost to Becky Lynch after a long-awaited return to the WWE.
